To enter for this prize, make an initial submission on Devpost by 10am on Sunday (you can continue editing until the hackathon deadline) with 1-2 sentence answers to these questions: What is the problem you’re solving? Who are users and/or customers? What’s currently missing that they need and which your solution provides? *Must* submit a functioning application that showcases the features/functionality that answer the questions included above.

Lyft - Best Transportation Hack

$100 in Lyft credit for the team, Starbucks gift cards for the team, and Lyft swag bags. Develop a hack that involves getting something from point A to point B and does it well.

DESIGNATION - Best Experience for Users

Each member of the winning team will receive one year free of InVision, the most commonly used design prototyping tool in the world, plus three free prototypes. We'll look at the UX and UI together of each product and find the one that creates the most meaningful, pleasurable, easy experience for anyone who uses it.

Best Use of Data Science

$200 for the team. Develop a software product that uses data science (i.e. data mining, data analysis, machine learning, information retrieval, etc.) to solve a problem or fulfill a need in a thoughtful and meaningful way.

mHUB - Best Physical Product Hack

2 months free membership to mHub, Chicago’s award-winning physical product incubator, makerspace, and co-working community. Develop a compelling hardware/physical project.

Best Civic Technology Hack

$200 for the team. Develop a product/project that best enhances the relationship between the public and government, and/or involves or improves the public's interaction with government services.

Best Virtual Reality Hack

$200 for the team. Develop a virtual reality hack that wows the judges! VR hacks can be done using any hardware or software that is capable, so no platform is favored specifically. Creativity in the design of your project is especially of interest. Attend the VR workshop to get some tips and pointers!

Best Project by a Illinois Tech ACM Member

*$200 for the team. Best project submitted by a team with at least 1 Illinois Tech ACM member (an individual who has attended at least 1 ACM sponsored event/meeting/hackathon since October 31st, 2016.

*Note: to encourage Illinois Tech ACM students to team with students from other schools, the prize will be split by the number of Illinois Tech ACM members on the team. For example, an Illinois Tech ACM student on a team with 3 non-ACM members will receive $200 (the individual, not the whole team).
